Bethlehem's Habitat Project Week 2012 is June 18-22, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm with lunch provided. This year the house is a new construction project on the corner of 38th Street and 5th Avenue. You do not need to volunteer for the whole week--one day minimum is all we ask. Volunteers are needed at all skill levels. Sorry, no weekend opportunities during this build. Community Worship Celebration

at Central Lutheran Church, downtown Minneapolis

As followers of Jesus, we are fed in faith by word and sacrament, sent out to feed our neighbors in need. 9 metro area churches are collaborating efforts to create an amazing experience on Sunday, May 27. All ages are encouraged to be part of this wonderful day. NOTE: Bethlehem will have worship services at 8:00 am and 7:00 pm ONLY because we don’t want anyone to miss out on this exciting opportunity to BE the church “all together in one place.” - Acts 2:1

Speaker: The Rev. Dr. Gary Reierson, President and CEO of Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches

On May 19, Gary Reierson will speak about the work of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches (GMCC) and how it has battled poverty in Minnesota since 1905. GMCC operates a successful family of social service programs and recruits support across denominational lines to help struggling Minnesota families remain self-reliant.

As an additional treat after the speakers, all are invited to go to Midtown Global Market to enjoy lunch at one of the many vendors, and to visit - and shop - at The Art Shoppe at Midtown Global Market. For those wishing to carpool from Bethlehem, please gather at the Welcome Desk in the Gallery at 11:30 (after the 10:15 service) or at 12:30 (after the 11:30 service). Nancy Maeker and Mary Tinkham will be there to give directions.

May 20 at 10:15 in Langemo Lounge

On May 20 at 10:15 am, two of the artists from The Art Shoppe at Midtown Global Market will give a demonstration of their artwork, tell the stories behind their artwork, and lead participants in creating their own sculpture.
